Stampede Defenseman Jared Berry will be back for his second year with the Stampede for the 2018-2019 season. The 19 year old Berry at 5’11 170 lbs was a very solid blue-liner last year with the team. “Jared is a tough player for sure, he is a guy that is hard to play against every night.” states Stampede Coach Mike Beavis.
Berry, from Homer, NY is looking to make the jump to college hockey after this season and the staff of the Stampede feel that he could impress schools looking for a stay at home defensive defenseman. Berry, who may not put up tons of points will give teams what they need with his work ethic and tough style of play in his own zone. “He doesn’t lose too many battles and is a guy we count on day in and day out. His compete level is off the charts.” added Beavis
The Stampede began training camp this week on the Campus of Oswego State College and will return home to their own ice today at 10:00 am for the last two days of this seasons week long camp.
Over the next two weeks the Stampede will introduce the rest of the returning team as well as introduce you to this seasons additions to the program.
