Big Weekend at Home for the Stamp

The Stampede will have a huge home weekend hosting the 10-1 Binghamton Senators on Friday night then back to back games on Saturday and Sunday VS the Skylands Kings. The Kings are currently tied for second place with the Stampede in the Northeast division while Bingamton has opened up a huge lead in the division.

Last weekend the Stamp traveled to Binghamton both Friday and Saturday for the first match-ups of the season. In game one on Friday the Stampede kept things close until the third period where penalties played a part in the eventual 6-2 win for the Sens. Saturday was a much different story for the Stampede as they came out flat giving up eight goals over the first two periods without mounting much offense in the contest. The Sens also took that game 9-2. “We emptied our tanks on Friday night and the game was much closer than the scoreboard showed.” States assistant coach Travis Hyde. “We had a couple calls that did not go our way on Friday as well as some key players playing with some nagging injuries. Not excuses, but Binghamton is good and if your not healthy and give them too many power play chances they will beat you.” added Stampede coach Mike Beavis. Saturday the Stamp were without one of the top players in the league in Rich Hart as he was assessed an additional game penalty for his 5 minute major and a game misconduct early in the third period on Friday. “Richie sets the tone for the game on most nights. He is a big strong guy that is a threat every time he is on the ice. Playing without him hurts your line-up for sure.” added Beavis.

The Stampede hope to get back on track this weekend with the three games in three days on home ice. Friday’s contest VS Binghamton will begin at 7:30 PM sharp as well as Saturday’s game VS the Kings. The final contest this weekend will also be against the Kings and puck drop will be at 1:00 PM. All three games will be held this weekend at “The Fort” home of the Stamp.
