The Oswego Stampede open up their home schedule this weekend with a cross division match-up VS the New England Stars at “The Fort”. Saturday will be opening night for the Stampede with warm ups at 7:00 PM and puck drop at 7:30. Sundays game will take place at 1:00 PM.
The Stars and the Stampede have eight seasons of history as opponents dating back to 2011-2012 when both teams were in the former IJHL and NSHL. “Always great hockey with New England and most of the time a great match up with good hockey. Dan Fontas is a very good GM and puts together a great program each season and with Darryl Green behind the bench you know his guys will be ready to go.” States Stampede Coach Mike Beavis.
The Stampede and Stars history has proven it to be an almost even match up as the two teams are practically .500 vs the other over the years. “New England always has great depth each season as they run a great program with a feeder system that runs through the youth hockey ranks at all ages. That is key to a successful organization and something that we would love to build in Oswego.” added Beavis
These two teams would love to play in front of a capacity crowd this weekend in Oswego, so stop out to “The Fort” and catch all the action live beginning at 7:00 PM this Saturday September 22.
