The Stampede have been busy gearing up for their first meeting of the season with the first place Binghamton Senators. This week the team has been hard at work preparing for the upcoming divisional match-up. “The guy’s have been working hard on and off the ice and battling some bumps and bruises but are ready to go.” States Stampede assistant coach Travis Hyde.
This will be the first two games of the eleven game seasonal series between the top two teams in the Northeast division. The Sens sit atop of the pack with a record of 8-1-0 while the Stamp are currently in second place with a 4-4-0 record. “We definitely have a tough schedule in the upcoming weeks and need to grab some key wins if we want to remain in the upper part of the division.” States Coach Mike Beavis
The Stampede will face some tough competition for certain over the next several weeks. With Binghamton, (6) times, Skylands Kings (2), New England Stars (2) and the Northeast Generals(2). It will some good hockey and a very big test early on for the Stampede. “If we can get to the break in December and sit in the same position in the standings I really think we would have the upper hand in the second half of the season and it could potentially set up a very interesting push for a decent playoff run.” added Beavis
