The Stampede have sent Defenseman Hayden Baker and Forward Nick Snyder up to skate with the NJ Titans of the NAHL this week. Both Baker and Snyder are 2000 birth-year players and are looking to impress the NAHL club enough to be considered for next season. The pair will skate today and tomorrow with the NAHL club and will then return to the Stamp for the weekend games VS Binghamton. This will be Bakers first time up to skate with an NAHL club while Snyder has also been up to Johnstown earlier this season.
The NAHL / NA3HL “Practice and Play” program has been a huge success for a relatively new program that was brought into play this year after the NAHL and NA3HL met this past summer in Dallas, TX. “The NAHL has been great trying to help build direct relationships between the NAPHL, NA3HL and the NAHL. I think the way things are working at this point we have a great and true ladder of development between the younger NAPHL, NA3HL, NAHL and onto the USHL in some cases.” states Stampede head coach Mike Beavis. “I feel that the NAHL family is working towards a great development model within the USA Hockey system and I credit all of the staff and teams that are participating in the “Practice and Play” program. added Beavis
The Stampede are hoping a few more players will be called up during the next few weeks to have the opportunity to skate with some NAHL teams as well.
