Stampede staff head to Denver

    Stampede coaches Mike Beavis and Kyle Althen will travel out to Denver, Co.  Next weekend to attend the CCM Denver Showcase.

     The tournament runs from May27th through May 30th and is billed as one of the best recruitment showcases of the year with several USHL, NAHL and tier lll junior coaches in attendance as well as a slew of college coaches. With the recruiting season well under way the Stampede are looking to fill some key roster spots.  "We have a few tenders left as well as some draft spots available for 2016-2017." stated Coach Beavis.

     The Stampede will look to tender a few players next weekend and set their sights on a few possible draft picks as well.  "We have a few players returning from last years team and have some very high end players that are showing interest from Sweden that would like to play with the us next season and move on to the college level of play in the future."  added Beavis 

     It will be a quick turnaround time for Coach Beavis as he will return home from Denver on May 31st then almost immediatly head to Toronto June 1st to catch a flight to Stockholm Sweden to attend the USHL / College Showcase in Norrtalje Sweden June 2nd through June 5th." Norrtalje will be a great trip as I will not only see some great European players but reunite with nine former Stampede players there as well." Beavis said.  Coach Beavis is traveling to Sweden representing not only his club but as a preliminary scout for three NCAA D-lll schools. (Utica College, Oswego State and Morrisville State college)  "We are looking to identify possible players for the NCAA D-lll level of play for these schools as well as sew up a couple of contracts with players we are interested in for next season." says Beavis

    The Stampede won't be done the recruitment process then by all means as the NA3HL Draft will take place on June 14th and the Global Showcase in Las Vegas June 20th-23rd.  The Stampede will conclude their recruiting in Boston, MA  At the 2016 Chowder Cup in July, to fill any remaining spots on this seasons roster.
