The Stampede split with the Lockport Express this past weekend to keep things very tight in the Western division playoff race. The Stampede dropped to 5th place trailing Lockport by a point for the final playoff spot. The Stampede have a game in hand over the Express but will need to cash in big next weekend VS The red hot Roc-City Royals in the final three home games of the season.

Lockport Express 5 vs. Syracuse Stampede 3 – Lockport, which led by three goals at one point, survived a comeback attempt by Syracuse and clinched a 5-3 victory. The largest advantage in the game came when Lockport's Jordan Pocobello scored at 19:52 in the first period to put Lockport up 3-0. Christopher Gasiewicz had one goal and two assists to lead Lockport. Gasiewicz scored 39 seconds into the first period to make the score 1-0 Lockport. Ryan Logar provided the assist. In a losing effort, Syracuse was paced by Hunter Soden, who finished with two goals. Soden scored the first of his two goals at 6:42 into the third period to make the score 3-2 Lockport. Ryan Gilroy picked up the assist. Soden's next tally made the score 4-3 Lockport with 57 seconds left in the third period. Ludovic Scott assisted on the tally. Lockport additionally got points from Erick Santiago, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Lockport also got a goal from Mark Friol. In addition, Lockport received assists from Peter Guido, Fankie Bodami, Andrew Logar, and Devin Kasperek, who each chipped in one. Syracuse forced Lockport goalie Sal Stalteri to work between the pipes, taking 36 shots. Brendan Sand also scored for Syracuse. More assists for Syracuse came via Nate Walker and Raymond Rowe, who contributed one each. Sal Stalteri made 33 saves for Lockport on 36 shots. Kyle VanWagner rejected 25 shots on goal for Syracuse.
