Stampede tryouts this Saturday and Sunday May 14th and 15th

    The Syracuse Stampede will be holding tryouts for their 2016-2017 team on Saturday May 14th and Sunday May 15th at the Ice-Plex on the campus of Morrisville State College (Home of the Stampede)  Registration is available online now.  Please remit tryout form online and mail in your tryout fee of $100 for the two day session.  Space is still available but register soon!

    Tryouts for the Stampede will be limited to 15-20 year old players (Birth-year 2001-1996). 

    This will serve as the Stampede's main tryout camp.  The dates are: Saturday May 14th and Sunday May 15th and will serve as their offical tryout camp for the 2016-2017 season.  Players are urged to register soon for the event, space is still available.

    The 2016-2017 Stampede team will be coached by Mike Beavis, Kyle Althen (Ohio Akron 2013-2016) and Jason Lefevre, (Colgate D-l  assistant coach from 2006-2015) both Beavis and Althen have been busy with resigning's and recruiting over the past several weeks.  The Stampede will be looking to assemble one of the top teams for the 2016-2017 season as they enter into their sixth year.  The Stampede recently attended the High School showcase in Pittsburgh, PA.  In April as well as the U-18 Tier l and ll Nationals, looking for potential players for the 2016-2017 season. Several players at both events were recruited by the staff and invited to tryouts.

    The Stampede are members of the NA3HL a tier lll junior league that is managed by the NAHL and are proud members of USA Hockey.  Over the past six seasons the Stampede have placed (13) players in NCAA D-l, NCAA  D-lll and ACHA D-l.  General Manager Mike Beavis has played a huge part in promoting over 50 players onto the college level of play over the past 25 years. Assistant Coach Jason Lefevre spent (9) seasons as an assistant coach with Colgate (NCAA D-l) and remains in contact with many of his former colleagues.  His relationships with college teams and recruiters are a very valuable asset to anyone that has the skill, work ethic and academic ability to attend and play at the college level in the future. Assistant coach Althen has spent the past four seasons with Akron's ACHA program not only as a player but as the GM / President of the team.

    This season the Stampede will be participating in the NA3HL draft in June with (8) picks available as well as receiving (12) tenders for the upcoming 2016-2017 season.  It is sure to be the place to play in the East as the NAHL ,NA3HL and the PHL have all created one of the best promotional and developmental structures in North America and in Junior Hockey today.
