Dylan Candleana from Stevensville, MD recently joined the team adding some much needed offensive help to the line-up. “Candy (as his teammates refer to him) with his size and grit will be a huge addition to the program for sure.” states Stampede coach Kyle Althen. Candleana was picked up in a recent trade with the Roc City Royals. In 27 games with the Royals Candy had 5 goals and 5 assists. Since joining the Stamp he has one goal in four games with the team and is even in plus minus.
“I think Dylan has the potential to possibly play at the NCAA level depending on how he develops over the next year and a half.” States Althen. “Dylan is a gritty guy that will go into the dirty areas and will be a good power forward for us for sure. There are some adjustments we are making with him that should get him some looks from a few SUNYAC teams going forward.” added Stampede Coach, Mike Beavis
The Stampede will count Candleana to help them as they push for the playoffs over the next few weeks. Currently in forth place in the Northeast division the Stampede will look to gain ground on the Skyland Kings and the Niagara Powerhawks. The team will travel to Binghamton this Friday and Sunday to face the division leading Binghamton Senators. Friday’s game time is 8:00 PM and puck drop Sunday is 12:30PM.
