Captain Rich Hart has committed to Morrisville State College to play NCAA D-3. Hart from Liverpool, NY. has been with the Stampede since the 2015-2016 season registering (177) games (32) G (74) A for (106) TP and (217) PIMS. “We are extremely excited to have Richie join the Mustang hockey family! His size and play-making ability along with with the consistency of his game will be a welcome addition to our back end. Richie’s character both on and off the ice will make him a great addition to our locker room as well. We are excited to have Richie on board and look forward to seeing him in a Mustang uniform.” States Morrisville Head Coach Kevin Krogol.
Hart the three time NA3HL Top Prospects Defenseman was speaking to a few schools over the past couple seasons and felt that Morrisville was the best fit for him both educationally as well as hockey. “Krogs and I have had quite a few conversations about Richie over the past few seasons and I figured it was just a matter of time before we would actually see him in a Mustangs jersey.” states Stampede coach Mike Beavis. “Richie is a solid Defenseman with a huge upside. He is one of the guys I look to each game as a leader as well as a top player. Over the past four seasons I have seen him develop into one of the leagues best defenseman and now earn himself a spot in NCAA D-3 hockey with the Mustangs.” added Beavis
Morrisville State College NCAA -3 plays in the SUNYAC league and is coached by Kevin Krogol (2008-Present) Krogol who played his junior hockey in the NAHL went on to play four years at Utica College before beginning his coaching career with Morrisville.
This is the third NCAA commitment for the Stampede this season and may not be the last as several players are getting attention from D-3 programs over the past few weeks. “I think being in the NAHL family and our relationships within the developmental ladder, colleges are looking more and more at the NA3HL as a viable resource for their programs.” adds Beavis
The Stampede would like to congratulate Captain Rich Hart on his accomplishments within the NA3HL and the Stampede and wish him all the best on the next step of his career and education at Morrisville State College.
