Sanborn Back With Stamp

The Stampede welcome back Nick Sanborn for the 2016-2017 season. Sanborn, the crafty center from Utica, NY will play a big part in the Stampede’s offense this season both on a regular shift and on special teams. “Nick has good vision and great hands and is capable of setting up guys as well as putting the puck in the net”. states coach Mike Beavis Sanborn was a +8 last season and in 27 games tallied 13 goals and 11 assists for 24 points. “If Nick had been healthy all season who knows where we would have been come playoffs.” added Beavis
Sanborn missed 17 games last season due to a broken collar bone. This was not his first experience with this injury, as he has broken it on two other occasions over the past few years. The Stampede are hoping that that Nick can stay healthy this season and help them push for a top finish in the Northeast division of the NA3HL. “Nick is a great kid that works hard and really understands the game. It’s nice to have him back in the line-up this season knowing he is a huge asset to our offense.” states coach Jason Lefevre .
The Stampede hit the ice for formal training camp on Monday August 29th and will host the LA Fighting Spirit on Saturday and Sunday September 10th and 11th at the Morrisville State College Ice-Plex for pre-season action as they prepare for their 2016-2017 season opener on September 17th and 18th in Biddeford ME. Where the Stampede will take on the Maine Wild both Saturday and Sunday that week.
