The Oswego Stampede increased it’s win streak to four and took sole possession of 4th place this past weekend with a weekend sweep of the 2nd place Niagara Powerhawks on the road in Niagara Falls.
In game one of the weekend Steven Kozikoski came up big, stopping 48 of 49 shots throughout the game. The Stampede took the lead before the halfway point in the second on a goal from Eddie Cannon.
Tommy Kilway chipped in with 2 goals.
In the first, Kilway opened the scoring for the Stampede with a goal at 12:05.
During the second period, Cannon deposited what turned out to be the game winning goal at 10:34.
In the third, Logar finally put Niagara Falls on the board with a goal at 13:55 with helpers from his linemates, Villani and Domiano. Kilway answered for the Stampede with a goal at 19:39.
The Stamps victory was in no doubt helped out by Kozikoski’s big night as he stopped 48 of the 49 shots he faced. On the other hand, Kozikoski’s counterpart, Augustine, allowed 3 goals in 24 shots. The victory moved the Stampede into 3rd place in the Northeast division.
In the second game of the weekend it was the Stamps goaltender Ben White’s turn to come up big, stopping 32 of 37 shots throughout the game. The Stampede took the lead late in the third on a goal from Tommy Kilway.
Dylan Gulick chipped in with 2 goals and Tommy Kilway delivered for his team with 3 points (2 goals, 1 assist). Matthew Minichello contributed with 2 points (1 goal, 1 assist) and Kurt Villani had no trouble finding the scoresheet, adding 2 assists.
During the first, Cannon opened the scoring for the Stampede with a goal at 4:31 with helpers from his linemates, Kilway and Briquelet. Logar answered for the PowerHawks with a goal at 14:46 with helpers from his linemates, Minichello and Tripi.
In the second period, Olszewski put in a goal at 0:22 with an assist from Kalinowski. Gulick quickly followed with a goal at 1:42 with an assist from his teammate Cannon. Simmonds scored a goal at 4:59 with a helper from fellow Stampede forward Wallace. Gulick netted a goal at 7:36 with an assist from defenseman Christou. Kilway deposited a goal at 19:33.
During the third, Logar answered for the PowerHawks with a goal at 8:34 with helpers from his linemates, Bodami and Villani. Minichello put in a goal at 15:08 with an assist from Minichiello. Logar quickly followed with a goal at 15:24 with helpers from his linemates, Bodami and Villani. Kilway quickly followed with what turned out to be the game winning goal at 16:45 with an assist from defenseman Hart.
The Stampedes victory was in no doubt helped out by White’s big game as he stopped 32 of the 37 shots he faced. White’s counterpart, Gates, and the PowerHawks allowed 5 goals in 19 shots.
This win brings the Stampede’s record to (13-21-3-0) and sole possession of 3rd place.
